Dr. Ioana Petrisor and Nick Buhbe will participate on a panel workshop discussing emerging challenges facing the environmental industry at AEHS’ spring meeting in San Diego, California. The March 16, 2020 workshop will present a series of challenging situations involving the emerging use of forensic techniques for routine site investigations, uncovering illegal contamination and remediation, as well as the use of appropriate fingerprinting methods to distinguish between sources of emerging contaminants such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and 1,4-dioxane. The focus will be on how to develop appropriate strategies and provide defensible and cost-effective solutions from both scientific and legal perspectives. DR. PETRISOR TO PRESENT AT CEHA
Dr. Ioana G. Petrisor is an invited speaker at "Update 2020" meeting hosted by the California Environmental Health Association. The meeting is a one-day conference where Environmental Health Specialists come from all over the state of California to learn about various topics. In the past, topics of discussion at these events have included "Environmental Consequences of Unpermitted Cultivation," cyanobacteria, legal issues in regards to inspection, and vector control. Dr. Petrisor will present on behalf of AEHS Foundation at this meeting. The talk will include an introduction and update on AEHS Foundation, as well as a technical presentation on environmental forensic techniques use to solve a large variety of critical problems in environmental projects.
This Update is to be held on October 15, 2020 and will provide those who need the continuing education units with a total of eight units.
2017 Western Dredging Association Meeting in Vancouver, BC
The Dredging Summit & Expo ’17 is a technical conference organized by the Western Dredging Association (WEDA) to promote the exchange of knowledge in fields related to dredging, navigation, marine engineering and construction. WEDA Pacific Chapter President Nick Buhbe will be attending the conference as a Board member. The conference will take place at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver from June 26-29, 2017.
